DIGITAL PRINTING

Digital printing refers to methods of printing from a digital-based image directly to a variety of media. It usually refers to professional printing where small-run jobs from desktop publishing and other digital sources are printed using large-format and/or high-volume laser or inkjet printers. Digital printing has a higher cost per page than more traditional offset printing methods, but this price is usually offset by avoiding the cost of all the technical steps required to make printing plates. It also allows for on-demand printing, short turnaround time, and even a modification of the image (variable data) used for each impression. The savings in labor and the ever-increasing capability of digital presses means that digital printing is reaching the point where it can match or supersede offset printing technology's ability to produce larger print runs of several thousand sheets at a low price.

Lamination is the technique/process of manufacturing a material in multiple layers, so that the composite material achieves improved strength, stability, sound insulation, appearance, or other properties from the use of the differing materials. A laminate is a permanently assembled object created using heat, pressure, welding, or gluing.

A UV Coating is a surface treatment which either is cured by ultraviolet radiation, or which protects the underlying material from such radiation's harmful effects.

The Pantone Color Matching System is largely a standardized color reproduction system. By standardizing the colors, different manufacturers in different locations can all refer to the Pantone system to make sure colors match without direct contact with one another.

Contour Cutting / Routing

Contour cutting is the process of cutting around the outer edge of a printed image in a predetermined shape or following the very contour of the design.

Routing is a high speed process of cutting, trimming, and shaping wood, metal, plastic, and a variety of other materials.

TYPES OF CUTTING

Die Cut - Custom-shaped stickers. Our cutters cut through the sticker material and the backing material to give your custom sticker a shape that is as unique as the artwork on it!

Kiss Cut - Kiss Cut stickers include light cuts within the border of your stickers. When stickers are created with kiss cuts, it means they can be peeled out of the backing material and the backing material remains. Multiple Kiss Cuts on one sticker are usually called a “sticker sheet”.

Cloud Cut - Same as a die cut but with small white border.

Back Slitting - When you want your label to be quick and easy to apply, consider back slitting. This finishing feature slits the back of your label liner for easy peel-off action and extra versatility. The backing can be separated and simply peeled off at the slit in the center of the label or on either side. Back slitting simplifies label application. It’s also referred to as a crack and peel label.
